Laboratory Analysis Services
Genknowme SA, located on the Biopôle campus in Lausanne–Epalinges, offers epigenome-wide DNA methylation analysis using Illumina Infinium MethylationEPIC v2.0 BeadChips. This platform interrogates approximately one million CpG sites, covering promoter regions, CpG islands, shores, shelves, enhancers, and other regulatory elements across the genome.
The laboratory is equipped to conduct the entire experimental workflow internally. This includes:
- High-quality DNA extraction from human whole blood samples
- Experience analysing methylome of extracted DNA from various cell origins (human)
- Bisulfite conversion using validated, high-efficiency protocols
- BeadChip preparation under Illumina-recommended conditions
- Scanning using Illumina iScan
- QC using Illumina GenomeStudio and internal quality metrics to assess signal intensity, bisulfite conversion efficiency,and call rate
- Delivery of IDAT files or pre-processed data (optional) using established pipelines for background correction, normalization, and probe filtering
- Delivery of latest epigenetics algorithms (optional)
- Bioinformatic support (optional)
All processing and data storage are performed entirely in Switzerland, ensuring compliance with Swiss data protection laws and applicable international research ethics standards.
Genknowme has completed service projects for academic laboratories, clinical research units, and industrial R&D departments. Past collaborations include the Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV), Unisanté, and biotechnology companies.
